Common Misconceptions About Life Coaching
There are several common misconceptions about Life Coaching that many people have. The media has often painted an innacurate picture of what Life Coaching is.
1) It is therapy -- Coaching is NOT therapy. We focus on the present/future and do NOT heal the past as a therapist or psychologist would. Coaching is fast and you must be emotionally healthy so you can take immediate action.
2) Your coach "tells you what to do" -- Wrong. Your coach will never tell you how it is or what to do. The answers are within you. Your coach draws them out and provides a safe space, sounding board and the structure you need to achieve. The rest is up to you! Coaching attracts independent people who hate being told what to do.
3) My friends will do fine -- Are you friends trained coaches? Are they un-biased, impartial and never jealous of you? Do they have no stake in your life? A person in your life has a vested interest in what you do. Your coach is objective and impartial with only your best interest in mind.
4) I can "go it alone" -- How many people do celebrities have in their entourage? Who is walking next to the president? Who does the CEO sit down with in times of crisis? Who is on the other end of that phone when the entrepreneur is talking? People are vital to our success today -- and adding a supportive network of important people to your personal or professional goals can make a BIG difference.
Are you a successful person capable of doing it on your own, but who wants a faster, smarter, better way? Read on...
What if you could get achieve even more, faster? At what point does an athlete become an Olympian in training? A worker to business owner? A guitar-player to a rockstar? A social person to a socialite? An employee to CEO? Where are you now and what do you want to become
In this short time we have on earth, what do you want most for your life? From the moment we are born, we are dying. So might as well do what you want, right?
Forget society. The expectations are not real. All that is for sure in life is you are alive and you have potential. If you don't act on it, you let more than yourself down. You let the world down. You were born for a reason. Use it, everything you've got.
What would it be like to life your life and look back and say "Yes, I lived every drop of my life -- no regrets." That is what I want for everyone of my clients.
You've read this far. Something has sparked in you. If you are that small percentage of the population -- ambitious, highly intelligent, creative, achievers who take responsibility and control of their own lives, then maybe it's the right time to think about this seriously.
What is your dream? If you were dying tomorrow, what would be your wish for your life?
No, you don't "need" help anymore than an top Olympic athlete needs to fine tune their sprint. Couldn't they just go out there and run? Yes they could. But they are different than the other people they ran track with in high school -- they recognize that they have achieved a level or success where their dreams have outgrown their resources. The ordinary will no longer do.
Will the ordinary do for you? Is talking to friends and family enough? Or is it time for something new?
The coaching formula can propel you towards success faster than anything else.
When you are strong enough, ambitious enough, emotionally ready to take on the next step, then let's talk. When you're ready, I'm ready to hear from you! Looking forward to it :)
